Tell Me The Raw Plugged Hole Pain Will Go...

I am being a shakey leaf of a weakling to moan about my toothache. But it hurts. Somebody make the pain stop.

The dentist stitched me up - and I'm not just talking about the 2500 euros I have to pay for an implant and new crown to fit into the raw gaping gummy bloodhole that is the right side of my mouth just now.

Mr Dentist took a fish-hook out (or something, you think I was paying that close attention?) and stitched up the hole. Then told me to bite down on a wad of cotton-wool for half an hour. Two hours later the blood continued to dribble from my lips until I finally squeezed two paracetomol between my clenched teeth and slept for a bit.

Now the pain is back and I don't know what to do with myself except plod round the apartment moaning and whining.

Tried taking a photo of the stitched hole for your entertainment but nothing doing. My camera lens is in shock.

I had one of my back molars wrenched out once and I remember how much it fecking hurt..you have my sympathies

  Sadly, sympathies didn't stop the dull ache all through the night. And - yippee! - now I get to go to work.

You do right to moan bout toothache, it fooking hurts!!!
I had a tooth "pulled" and it would not stop bleeding, so my dentist poked a cotton bud in the hole to drag out a big lump of congealed blood then stitched it up, I feel you pain!!!
Sorry to say it fooking hurt for 3 weeks

  That I can believe. i have an appointment in a month to check on how its healing. That should have been a warning sign that it's gonna throb and ache right up until then.

Toothache is terrible.
I used to think rubbing whisky on your gums helped but my Dentist said it doesn't and you'd be much better off drinking the whisky.
Just a thought.

  My mother says chewing cloves does the trick. I can't get water near the hole, let alone anything that has a sharp sticky bit attached.

Can you get clove oil? It comes in a small bottle similar to tea tree oil etc. Rub it around the area that is hurting in your mouth, don't get it in the open wound though as it will sting like hell, but although it stinks it does help keep the edge of the pain.

  Good idea. I'm in the UK Thursday for work, so will get some in Boots no doubt (my favourite shop ever).

    I wish there was a Boots in Amsterdam or the Hague, just so us UK expats can go and get everything we want when we want and get the range of products!!! I was in UK for 2 days last week and one morning was spent in Boots stocking up on things can't get here! I was only in a smallish town's branch of Boots but even then the array of hair products was thrilling to a starved for choice one such as me!!!

      Tell me about it. Just got back from three days in London. I went to the same Boots shop five times. Mainly cos I have toothache where the tooth used to be. I bought some oil of cloves and a hydrochloric peroxide mouthwash, which sounds more like you dye your hair with it, but there you go.
      
      Dentist on Monday. This much pain a week after extraction isn't right.
